Freshly laundered shirts help me work cleanly and ensure the fabric behaves well during cutting and sewing.
2. Don’t cut anything.
Please leave all shirts, jerseys, and garments whole. I’ll take care of stabilizing and cutting them to the right size.
3. Check for stains, holes, or peeling graphics.
Minor issues are totally workable, but it helps to know ahead of time which pieces need extra care.
4. Set aside any “must‑include” or “optional” shirts.
If certain shirts are especially meaningful—or if you have extras you’re okay leaving out—separate them so I know your priorities.
5. Remove items from pockets.
Old notes, ticket stubs, and treasures are fun to find, but it’s best if you clear them out first.
6. Label anything unusual.
If you’re including baby clothes, sweatshirts, or non‑T‑shirt items, a quick note helps me plan the layout and stabilization.
7. Bring more shirts than the minimum if you can.
Having options gives me flexibility to create the best layout for your quilt’s size and style.
8. Fold items neatly in a bag or bin.
This keeps everything organized and makes intake faster for both of us.
